St. David's Day Selection
The 1st of March marks the Feast of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, or St. David's Day. Born to St. Non, on a Pembrokshire clifftop in the midst of a fierce storm, in the year 500, St. David led a simple monastic life, reputedly subsisting on not much more than leeks and water! He founded monasteries in Wales, England and France before returning to his native Wales, where he was buried at the site of St. David's Cathedral in the year 589. St. David's message lives on, and his words "Do the little things in life" have remained a well-known proverb in Wales until today.
