In the opening scene of The Mabinogion, Pwyll Prince of Dyfed has a magical encounter with Arawn - a King from Annwn (The Otherworld). They subsequently exchange their lives and physical appearances and each spends a year in the other's domain. This is an original design by Rhiannon, expressing the reflective duality of this and many other tales from the Celtic lands.
