Rhiannon's 50th Anniversary Piece

Over the years we’ve made a lot of special gifts for people to celebrate their Golden Anniversaries. This year it’s our turn as we reach this milestone ourselves!

Admittedly, things have not quite gone according to plan, as our actual birthday was at the very end of May, but circumstances this year made it impossible to celebrate on the day.

50th anniversary piece in the making...

1. Gwern and Rhiannon discuss ideas for a design and Rhiannon creates a simple sketch for a model. 2. The sketch is transcribed onto silver sheet ready to be cut and created. 3. Rhiannon drills multiple guide holes ready to cut out each section.

4. The model is cut to shape, made to look easy here but harder than you think! 5. A sprue is added in order to create a mould for the 50 Rhiannon Welsh Gold versions we need to make. 6. The model is filed and shaped.

7. Annabel creates and adds a setting for a half carat diamond to the model. 8. The first five pieces are cast and prepared for finishing. 9. Gwern hand picks diamonds for each and every one - this takes time as it's impossible to find 50 stones in one go!

This stunning new limited edition pendant by Rhiannon is in celebration of our own 50th anniversary.

The design centres on a 0.50ct investment grade Round Brilliant diamond and we've flowed out from this with five petals in a repeating pattern to symbolise our five decades. It is quite something to have been here at the heart of the small town of Tregaron for so long.

A period during which we have expanded and grown to become a very significant part of this small town's landscape, heritage and, hopefully, its future.

This is a piece to treasure now, and one we're certain will be sought after by collectors in the future.
