The design is inspired by the legend of Sabrina, the love-child of the mythical King Locrinus of Britain. She and her mother, Estrildis, are said to have been drowned in the River Severn by Locrinus estranged wife Gwendolyn after her armies slew him in battle. The Severn itself is named after the tragic Sabrina.
The diamond in this pendant stands for the castle above the river whilst the intricate knotwork with its heart motif symbolise the river’s flow and the enduring love of Locrinus and Estrildis.
